Pastor Gene Williams
Rev. Gene Williams has been pastor at Parkers Chapel since January 1, 2008. As an eastern North Carolina native, he attended East Carolina University ('92-'96) as a Psychology Major before completing his education at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College ('99), where he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Pastoral Theology. He has served as a youth pastor, educator, guidance counselor, coach and associate pastor in previous ministries both in North Carolina and Virginia. Pastor Gene served as the Associate Pastor at Parkers Chapel from 2003 - 2007 before becoming Senior Pastor in 2008.
He currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the SEFWBC Board of Directors and has done so since 2014, while also serving on the board since 2008.
He is also currently serving on the FWB Foundation as a Board of Directors and done so since 2014.
Since 2019, he has served as the NC FWB State Moderator while serving on the NC State Executive Committee.
He is a frequently used speaker to young people. He has spoken to several area public/private/Christian school sports teams as well as an often used chapel speaker on both the high school and collegiate level. He is often able to draw from his experiences as a HS athlete (where he started and lettered in football, basketball and baseball) to connect with these players on not just the playing field, but most importantly on a spiritual level. At ECU, he has spoken for CRU and other campus ministries. He is also a frequently used to minister in marriage retreats and conferences, church revivals as well as church leadership training and seminars.
His family are annual season ticket holders to ECU football where you will often find them on game-day Saturday's, as well as attending many other Pirate athletic events.
Known for his encouraging words and friendly personality, he and his wife, Leslie, have three children: Faith, Grace, and Jonathan.
